The cave of Mura, between valleys and cliffs

The cave of Mura, between valleys and cliffs

We propose a slight hike to the cave of Mura, a cavern of 170 meters deep, used by humans 4,000 years ago as a place of collective burial. You will find a great beauty of limestone formations and crystals formed for millions of years. The itinerary leaves the Mura Interpretation Center, it's necessary to book the visit.

We must follow the white and green brands: SL-C 69 Cuevas de Mura. We will pass by bays and when we approach the torrent we will leave the Blanquera leap to the left. We will enter the torrent of Reixac, which runs on bare rock. When leaving the river, we will continue along the path following the valley. We will come to a forest track: cross it straight. This path continues up. Be careful not to reach the Collado de Reixac, if we arrive, we have to go back to about 20 m. Follow the directions for the milestones.

Undo the path that led us to the cave and heads towards the ridge, the Coll d'en Reixac. The path borders the steep slopes devoid of soil and vegetation. We will continue the path always choosing the turnoffs to the left. We will find the source of the Screw, in this environment, there is a well-established holm oak forest.

The return to Mura follows the path until you reach a mountain track and continue to cross the Nespres stream. We will continue walking until we reach the village.
